Asthma

During grass pollen season between October and December, there is an increased risk of seasonal asthma, hay fever and epidemic thunderstorm asthma.

Thunderstorm asthma is asthma that is triggered by a particular type of thunderstorm when there are high amounts of grass pollen in the air. It can result in people wheezing, feeling short of breath, and tight in the chest with coughing. This can be sudden, serious, and even life threatening. Those at risk of thunderstorm asthma are those who have asthma (or have had asthma in the past, or undiagnosed asthma) and/or have hay fever.

If your child has been diagnosed with asthma it is important that you have your child’s asthma plan updated annually and provide a copy to the school office. Please also provide a supply of Ventolin or other asthma reliever and spacer to the school office. These will be stored at the office so they can be easily accessed should your child require it throughout the day.

Should you have any questions, please contact Mel in the office.

Hats Must Be Worn In Term Four

Thanks everyone for doing a really good job of bringing and wearing your school hats.

School hats are  compulsory and must be worn by all students in term four when outside.

Please contact the office to arrange purchase if a new school hat is required.

A reminder that our policy is No hat – No outside play!  Students are required to sit in a designated shaded area during break times if they do not have their school hat.

ROCCH Awards

Congratulations to the 5-6 students who were recognised with a ROCCH award at our end of term assembly for doing wonderful things at school! Well done.
