Grade 2 Students

Celebrating our terrific Twos!

2A - Mr E

2A has been busy writing their original narratives! We have explored interesting openers, created interesting settings and developed our main character. We have thought about exciting problems for our characters to face and considered how they might overcome these. We hope you enjoy reading them as much as we have enjoyed writing them!

2B - Miss Bailey

This week, 2B started learning about division. We thought we could take advantage of the beautiful weather and head outside to play a little relay game to help us with our division skills. We broke off into two teams of 12 and were each given a tennis ball. We then had to run a relay race and share our tennis balls amongst the hula hoops we had for that round. We shared 12 between 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 hula hoops and found we could share them equally. Next, we were challenged with 5 hula hoops. We soon discovered that we could not share our 12 tennis balls amongst the 5 Hola Hoops without having some extras. We learnt that these extras are called remainders.

2C - Mr K

This term we have hit the ground running with an interesting Chance and Data activity. We discovered that the less items you have to pick from in a hat, the easier it is to predict what you might pick next!
