Grade 1 Students 

1A - Miss Morrison

We have been learning about measuring the weight of items. First, we practised the skill of hefting - holding an item in either hand and feeling which was heavier or lighter. We then used the scales to compare the weight of the items. We had to choose 10 items from around the classroom and order them from lightest to heaviest. 

1B - Miss Lou

IB spent time last week writing recounts all about their wonderful holidays. Each child focused on using ‘wow words’, correct sentence structure and openers such as firstly, next, then, after that and lastly. 

We learnt all about 2D shapes and their attributes. We had fun cutting out shapes and designed our own face. The students then added up how many shapes they had of each. 

1C - Miss Wong

We had so much fun creating our 2D Shape Face Art. In this activity, we chose a variety of shapes and focused on being able to recognise 2D shapes by their geometric features.
