Rugby League Development Sessions

We are extremely fortunate to have Brad Field, the local Rugby League Development Officer and his team, deliver Rugby League skills to our students today - Friday 4th November. With all the recent postponements and cancellations of sporting events we have experienced, it is a welcome event at our school that I know the students and staff are really looking forward to and will enjoy. Thank you Brad for providing this opportunity for our students. Look out for photos in the next newsletter and on Facebook. 

Captain’s Cup

Next Tuesday 8th November, some of our Stage 2 students will participate in the Captain’s Cup Challenge (7 a side) held in Inverell. We have one Rugby League team and two League Tag teams competing on the day. Thank you to Adriana Pietsch, Alise McBain, Kristen Bailey and Natasha Templeton who have offered to help our teams on the day. We wish the students, staff and parents an enjoyable day.

Future Dates

Diocesan Touch Football Trials

The Diocesan Touch Football Trials will be held on Friday the 18th November at Tamworth. The Polding Trials will be held in 2023, therefore this is open to our Year 5 students who have a proficient skill level in touch football and exceptional Year 4 students. If students make the Diocesan team, they will attend the Polding Touch Trials held in Parkes on the 28th March, 2023. A note has already been communicated to parents of students who have indicated that they would like to nominate for these trials. 

Diocesan Cricket, Basketball and Tennis Trials

Friday 2nd December, the Diocesan Cricket, Basketball and Tennis Trials will be held in Tamworth. Again, we are invited to nominate students of a proficient skill level in Year 5 and exceptional skill level for Year 4 students. A Diocesan team and individuals will be selected to represent the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Trials in Lismore in 2023. If your child is interested in nominating for these trials, please contact me at school.

Swimming

Our swimming sessions for this term will be held in Week 9 (5th - 7th December). The plan is: 

Monday 5th - Stage 3

Tuesday 6th - Stage 2

Wednesday 7th - Stage 1 and Kinder

More information will be sent out closer to the date.
