A Look at Learning

From the LOP

PAT TESTING

Over the next two weeks students from Early Stage 1 to Stage 3  will be participating in annual PAT testing. These national benchmarking tests are produced externally and delivered via an online adaptive platform. All students across our diocese participate in these tests annually. These assessments enable teaching staff to collect data relating to student knowledge, skill and understanding across both domains of Mathematics and Reading. These tests pinpoint where a student currently sits with their learning and where are their next steps to ongoing improvement. Results are interpreted and analysed by staff in their teaching teams and targeted plans of “where to next” are developed and delivered in future classroom units and lessons. Our results here at Glen Innes can also be compared to the Australian Norm which then allows our skilful staff to be able to more accurately predict potential student performance against upcoming external Australia wide assessments like NAPLAN.
