Assistant Principals' Report
October
We welcome back the Year 7, 10 and 11s this Friday 22nd October and we're looking forward to seeing the 8s and 9s next week. It’s important that we continue to stay positive and safe over the coming weeks as we move back into ‘’normal” schooling. Over the last few weeks we know it has been really hard with all the online learning and being stuck at home. When we're back its important that we reflect on this last lockdown and embrace the remaining weeks of Term 4.
We will ease ourselves back into the classroom and teachers will be focusing on re-engaging students. We need to remember our school values Courage, Aspiration, Respect and Equality and look after our fellow students, check in on how they are feeling and get to know each other again after so many weeks away.
Your teachers will focus on student mental health and wellbeing and re-connecting students back to school. There will be plenty of activities over the coming weeks and we encourage all students to get involved! These will include out of uniform days, year level BBQs and other lunchtime activities, school clubs, the Art Show and School Production all still happening this term. Keep an eye on Compass for more details, its going to a great finish to Term 4 and 2021.
In the classroom, teachers will:
A reminder that remote and flexible learning will continue to be delivered to students on the days students are not onsite.
Early Commencement
In supporting our senior student’s transition into VCE and VCAL, there will be a 2 week Early Commencement Program to help students build confidence and certainty for what their Academic Program looks like for 2022. This program will include giving students overviews and timelines for their courses, going over important information about assessment and setting up students with subject vocab and prerequisite skills.
Take care and we look forward to seeing you all in the coming days.
