Principal's Message

Liam Buckley

Dear Lord

We thank you Lord, for this term. For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt. Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends. Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith. Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others. To be peacemakers in our family. Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun. Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term. We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents And a community that cares for us. May we always be conscious of you in our lives. Amen

Dear Families

As the term draws to an end we thank you and your children for continuing to manage in challenging times. We hope that the school will be full of children at some point next term. I would like to thank the staff at St Joseph's for their continued professionalism and the value they add to our school.

On behalf of the staff at St Joseph's I wish you all a healthy and safe holiday.

Thank you to everyone who has sent their best wishes for Jenny Keely and Chris Kelliher. We hope and pray for their health and for their families at this time.

Sunsmart

Dear all

Some of the funds raised by you via Parents and Friends has bought this contactless sunscreen dispenser for the students. It cost $1200 and will service all our children to keep them safe in the sunnier weather. Thanks Cathy for organising this and we are happy to support the Cancer Council in the work they do.

Shrek Jnr

It is becoming more and more obvious that we will not be able to have a performance at Kilbreda for our Shrek Jnr production. We are devastated that this is the case but understand that the performing arts industry has been hit hard by the pandemic and all schools and groups are in a similar position. Instead we have employed a film crew who specialise in offering an alternative. Therefore we will be trying our very best to film and produce Shrek Jnr here at school in Term 4. We then aim to stream the 'performance' on an evening where we can all watch at the same time. The recording will also be available to purchase afterwards. Please note this is pending on Miss Sabbatucci having the students in school for a reasonable amount of preparation time.

Cladding

Many of you may remember that there is some combustible cladding in the school building. We are currently exploring ways of removing the cladding. I will keep you informed once we have more direction from MACS.

School Policies

With the change of Governance in Catholic schools in Victoria (from parish priests to MACS) each catholic school has adopted updated system wide policies. Many of these are already on our website due to compliance requirements.

Dates.

Term 4

Monday 4th Oct - Wednesday 15th Dec

School events are becoming a moveable feast at the moment so all dates remain flexible in the hope of being able to come back together as a community.
