Term 4 Week 3

Feature News: Physical Education

Remote Learning

We hope you all had a lovely break over the holidays and are ready to take on Term 4. Even though our learning has been remote, we saw significant developments last term, which has continued so far into Term 4. The focus for the junior school has been 'catching and throwing', in particular developing correct overarm and underarm techniques. The focus for the senior school has been the sport golf, in particular demonstrating golf swing techniques and articulating strategies used in the sport.

Thank you to all the families and students that joined the weekly Zoom HIIT sessions, this has been a success and participants should be very proud for committing to moving their bodies. If there is a demand, we are looking at running a before school fitness class, more details will be supplied.

Going Forward

With students attending school onsite, we will begin weekly PE sessions for the term. Our focus across all year levels is encouraging and reconnecting socially in fun activities embedded in movement skills. The junior school will continue to learn through movement and understand movement sequences, which will encourage students to develop a sense of teamwork and healthy competition. The senior school will continue to learn basic rules, strategies, techniques and skills required for specific sports. We are hoping to host Orienteering Victoria in the later weeks of the term, as well as AFL and Cricket Victoria. These incursions will depend on the government restrictions and further details will be supplied.

We are both looking forward to a fun, active and healthy term and can't wait to teach the students and continue to develop and refine physical movement skills and encourage positive lifestyle skills.
