From The Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The recent ease on restrictions allowed our Prep to Grade 2 students to return to school for a very short time. This has been a pleasing result for our junior students but a bit of juggling act for our school staff with some remaining at home for remote learning lessons to be delivered.

The Premier announced today that Ballarat will be going back into lockdown tonight.

Please follow the link on COMPASS for bookings for the next day and a half.

Students must be re-booked for Thursday and Friday if they were already booked in.

The usual categories apply for the eligible students. Again, please see the COMPASS notification.

STAFFING UPDATES

At the end of this term we say goodbye for the year to Mrs Clara Shell who will be taking time off to have the birth of her first child.  We wish her all the best and thank her for her time with Prep A this year.  Ms Madeleine De Barro will be replacing Mrs Shell for Term 4.

We have also appointed Mrs Stephanie Lindsay to the position of Assistant Principal (Teaching and Learning) for 2022. The school has grown large enough to have two Assistant Principals in the school.   This will mean that the school has two Assistant Principals in the school :

Marnie Cooper (Assistant Principal—Administration and Wellbeing)

Stephanie Lindsay (Assistant Principal—Teaching and Learning)

We have also appointed Gabby Williams to the role of Wellbeing Specialist for 2022.  This person will be leading our Respectful Relationships program and also be supporting the Wellbeing team.  It is a role that will take a staff member out of classroom and one that we feel is important after  two years of remote learning.

We are currently going through the process of recruiting two classroom teachers to the school for 2022.  This process take the school about 4 weeks before we make a decision.  We should know more by the start of next year.

STUDENT SCHOOL LEADERSHIP APPLICATION

Our Grade 5 students have been asked to apply for School Leadership positions while in remote learning and will be required to have it submitted by the end of this week.  Students have been informed to send their applications to Mr Phillips.
