Colours Assembly, September 2021.

From the Dean of Teaching and Learning, Kathryn Paul

It has been a busy end of Term 3 with many student activities and events to conclude the term including a terrific showcase of Visual Arts and Drama.

Art Exhibition 2021

On Wednesday 15 September the 2021 Art Exhibition was officially opened by local artist Trudi Pollard in the Technology Centre. Students from Pre-Primary to Year 12 worked hard throughout the year producing creative and interesting artworks. Congratulations to our Visual Arts students for their impressive and perceptive art on display and to the Arts Department for inspiring our students to create such wonderful work.

Drama Night

Following the opening of the Art Exhibition, the Years 10, 11 and 12 Drama Night was held in the Williamson Theatre on Wednesday 15 September. Our Drama students presented a terrific theatrical showcase with some entertaining performances of Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors from the Year 10s.  In addition, the Years 11 and 12 monologues were highly engaging for the audience on a range of insightful and diverse topics including Sweet Little Grandwitch, The Grinch Who Didn’t Steal Christmas, Unsteady and Check Mate featuring a chess game that came to life for the audience. Congratulations to all Drama students for their performances and best wishes to the Year 12s as they prepare for their ATAR Drama Practical and Written Examinations. Thank you also to Drama teacher, Rhiannon Thomas for her support and encouragement of our Drama students.

Year 7 Homework Club

Our Year 7 Homework Club runs on Thursday afternoons during the term for Year 7 students to obtain additional homework support and advice from their teachers on study techniques. It is terrific to see the Year 7s access this opportunity to assist with their learning.

The Homework Club will continue to run in the Year 7 building on Thursday afternoons from 3:10pm - 4:00pm during Term 4. Please contact Head of Year 7, Jaquie Fisher if you have any questions regarding Year 7 Homework Club.

Year 12 ATAR 2021

The Year 12 ATAR Mock Examinations are scheduled during the Term 3 holidays and commence on Tuesday 28 September until Friday 8 October. Students have received their personalised Mock Examination timetables, Examination Conditions information and exam slips. Best wishes to the Year 12s as they prepare for their Mock Examinations.

Students have also been provided with a copy of their personalised 2021 ATAR Written and Practical Examinations timetables.

  • Year 12 ATAR course Written Examinations:  From Monday 1 November to Friday 19 November 2021.
  • Year 12 ATAR Practical Examinations: From Saturday 25 September 2021.

The 2021 Year 12 ATAR Written and Practical Examination timetables can be accessed via the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) website:https://senior-secondary.scsa.wa.edu.au/assessment/examinations/examination-timetables

Please be reminded that all ATAR students must login to the SCSA Student Portal and ensure their contact details are correct including providing their mobile number. As ATAR Practical Examinations commence on Saturday 25 September, SCSA has sent a Test SMS to all numbers currently entered in the Student Portal confirming the SCSA Official account.  Students will be requested to save the number in their phone. If ATAR students did not receive the SMS on Thursday 23 September, please ensure that students login to the Portal as a priority and check that their number is correct.

Another busy term has come to an end. Our Colours Assembly this week was a testament to the hard work of many students this term. Inter-School Athletics Colours, Inter-House Chess, Uno and Debating Colours and Inter-House Athletics Champion Boys and Girls were among the awards announced. Congratulations to all the recipients for the contribution you have made to school life this term.

Last week, we celebrated Charter House Day with a special Chapel service, House games and a delicious pizza lunch. Charter House continued their long-standing support of Kanyana Wildlife Centre, donating funds raised from their annual Charter House Pizza Lunch.

I would like to take this time to wish you all a safe, happy and restful holiday. Enjoy the break and we look forward to welcoming students back next term.
