Media Night

Our Media Night will showcase the many talents of our students, with a variety of genres and styles of films on show; from short genre films and documentaries, to action film trailers and music videos. Come along for an entertaining and enjoyable evening!

This is also a valuable opportunity for upcoming media students to gain insight into Media as a course. Some films are rated M - parental guidance advised for younger viewers.

SPORT

What an incredible term of sport we have had. We hit the ground running with the Year 10 AFL Carnivals and Interhouse Athletics Carnival. All top performing athletics students were encouraged to attend our athletics training sessions which ran every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Thank you to every student who attended these sessions and to all our wonderful coaches for facilitating each specialist event.

  • Sprints- Miss Jessica Pillera and Mr Yagan Williams
  • Hurdles – Mrs Lyn Foreman
  • Distance – Miss Marie Armand
  • Throws – Mr Timothy Llyons
  • High Jump – Miss Ella Adams
  • Long Jump – Mr Joshua Bowen and Mr Darren Kowal

Our focus for athletics this year was to be as competitive as we could be… to finish as the runner up school to the mighty Sacred Heart College was simply incredible. This result would not be possible if it were not for the commitment and passion of our wonderful students. Last year John XXIII College achieved our term goal of staying in the ACC A- Division Athletics realm, this year they nearly won!!!

This week, we concluded our Term of sport in the pool with our Years 9/10 Water Polo Carnivals, where our teams yet again reminded our competition that we are a force to be reckoned with.

On behalf of the Sports Department at John XXIII College, we are honoured and proud to be leading such dedicated and talented sporting students. We hope everyone enjoys their holiday and look forward to seeing you all next term.
