The golden ticket

Last week’s Years 8/9 Production of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ featured our talented students seeking the ‘golden ticket’ to enjoy the treats on offer. Congratulations to our students and Director, Ms Kaitlyn Green for an excellent evening of entertainment.

Of course, this week the other ‘golden ticket’ is a seat at the AFL Grand Final for the historic big game. The result is of special interest to Mr Darren Kowal, Ward House Coordinator and Physical Education Teacher, who played over 100 games for the Demons. Good luck to Mr Kowal and the Dees!

We can extend the ‘golden ticket’ discussion to the ongoing challenges associated with the global pandemic. It has been announced that all Western Australians aged 12 to 15 are now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine. The Department of Health advised it is offering allocated times for school students aged 16 years and over and school-based staff to access WA Health clinics.

More information about clinic locations can be found on the HealthyWA website.

Please refer to the attached letter below from the Chief Health Officer, providing details about the clinics, including information about consent.

If you have any questions or concerns about vaccinating your child, please visit the HealthyWA website.

It is becoming increasingly apparent that vaccination provides the ‘ticket’ to a healthier society.

Thank you to all our students, staff and families for another wonderful term at John XXIII College.
