VCAL 2021 Cook Off competition
On 11 October, two year 12 VCAL students (Lexie Bradford and Leonie Evans) chose to compete in the VCAL 2021 Cook Off competition. The competition is run by the Peninsula VCAL Association. It is an opportunity for Year 12 VCAL students from local schools within the region to get creative and show case their best dish. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Association was unable to host the competition face to face. Instead Lexie and Leonie created their cake at EMC. Specifications for the competition were the students had to make a cake to celebrate VCAL’s 20th birthday.
As head chef, Lexie chose a Rich Chocolate Mud Cake. She chose it because she goes by the KISS rule to give her the mindset of keeping it simple and that less is more. The end result by Lexie and Leonie was amazing both visually and taste wisefor the lucky teachers on site who got to taste it. The cake will be judged shortly after the close off date of 15 October and prizes will be forwarded to the school if successful.
