Athletics Day

On Monday, we had our School Athletics Carnival. The Year 1 and 2 Community wrote about the day in a recount. Read their recounts below.

Yesterday we had Athletics day. I was in Blue Team. We went on the bus and arrived there. When I got there, it was cool. I was excited to race in there. We got off the bus. We went with our partner off the bus. We stepped carefully. I said WOW!! I got ready to start the race. Mr Hyde blew the horn... 54321. I was running so hard. I came first place. The red team won and got the trophy.

Yesterday it was Athletics day carnival. Our whole school went and there was a bus for each grade to Moonee Ponds at the race track. I was 5th place and our team was Mannix. The colour was blue and we lost. We played a chicken relay. It was so much fun and someone's shoes fell off who was on the red team. At the end it was time to give out the silver shiny trophy and it was the red team. When the carnival was over, I was tired because we did so many cool things. It was a sight to see!

Yesterday we had Athletics Carnival. The school went on big buses to get there. Parents helped the teachers and watched their kids. I was in MacKillop which is red. When we got there, we dropped our bags under shelter. Then we ran over to where the 3/4s and 5/6s were sitting. The teachers put us into groups. We were doing sprints. When it was my turn, I felt like I was going to climb the biggest mountain in the world! But when Mr Hyde did the horn I came third but I did not really care. Then we did Kaboom sports and had our snack. Then we went back over to Kaboom sports because we did not finish the activities. We were so sweaty after. Then the teachers wanted us to line up with our colour teams and the lines were even. Some people had to go on the other side and I was one of them. It was the chicken relay. My favourite!

Yesterday we had our Athletics Carnival. The whole community went on a giant bus to get there. 

All of us had to pick a partner to go on the bus. I chose Liam V at the start but at the end I chose Deven. When we got there, we saw all of our parents. We did races and I came third for my team Chisholm. In the relay races Chisholm won. Then the Grade 3/4s and 5/6s did the relay races. Then we participated in the Kaboom sports. It was super fun. Mr Palanca announced the winner. It was Red team! When we got back to school everyone was so, so, so, so, so exhausted!

Yesterday it was the Athletics Day Carnival. The students went on a bus. When we got there we were put into groups. I was in Red team and the team is called MacKillop. So I ran as fast as I could. Next we did Kaboom sports. My favourite was when Miss Borg did funny dancing. Then we had snacks.
