VET FOCUS

As Term 1 is drawing to a close, I have spent time visiting students who are on Structured Work Placement as part of their VET course.

Doing a VET course requires a minimum number of hours and students who are doing VCAL as well will be at a job placement on either a Wednesday or a Friday.

If you have not found a work placement yet, you MUST undertake one in Term 2.

YOUR VET COURSE HAS A MINIMUM NUMBER OF HOURS OF SWPL/WORK EXPERIENCE YOU MUST DO TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS.

Over time, many of our students who have undertaken Structured Work Placement or Work Experience have gone on to have successful careers in their industry after being offered School-Based Apprenticeships.  If this is a career pathway that appeals to you, please find out further information from Ms Dimasi or Mrs Kennedy.

There are some great stories that come from Structured Work Placement and I look forward to sharing them with you in future editions of the careers newsletters.

If you visit the portal you can see what placements are available, but if you can’t find a placement in your industry, I can help you approach employers to find one that appeals to you.
