VISIT FROM THE GIDEONS
We were also privileged to once again host a visit from the Gideons. David and John came in to speak to us about what they do and to give a Bible to each of our Year 7 students. The Bibles include a number of different languages and Ivan Sokolov recited a small section of the Bible to us which was written in Russian.
POETRY UNIT - THE SEARCH FOR MEANING
ConnecTED Learning students are immersing themselves in poetry. Students experienced a range of different types of poetry and some of their examples are printed below.
The sky is like a glossy blue ocean, waves so wide.
The sun is like 5 million stars joined together as a family.
The clouds are like mashed potatoes
The trees sound like they are playing Chinese whispers
the moon is like a freshly cleaned dinner plate.

That storm was coming
It roared over the shark infested ocean
It came with fiery smokey clouds
It then sank to the bottom of the ocean. BANG!
And up rose the rain
that storm that never came

Pink is vibrant lips and designer clothes
Pink is the sound of shopping and dance
Pink has the smell of cupcakes and perfume
Pink feels fluffy, warm and soft
Pink has the feeling of home. It is safe and girly
Pink has the taste of fluffy cotton candy
Pink has experiences of make-up trends and shopping
Pink takes me to the mall, Beverly Hills and a Palace
Evie McIntyre
The sky is as pink as a kid with a burnt face
The sun is like a yellow soccer ball flying through the air
The clouds are like my hair in the morning
The trees are like broccoli on my dinner plate
Jim Grey
Blue is the wide blue ocean the huge sky and blue pens
Blue is sad music, crying and sad sounds
Blue smells like cold, ice minty things
Blue is cold, smooth and slightly silky
Blue reminds me of sad times and sad music
Blue is cold ice and ice cream
Blue is swimming, skiing, skydiving and funerals
Blue places are the ocean, sky and snowy cold places
