Athletics Carnival

2018 ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

The 2018 Athletics Carnival was held at Jubilee Park on a very warm and sunny autumn day. Students from all Houses competed with fantastic spirit and the sheer number of competitors who participated in track and field events is to be commended. House pride was on the line and the House Leaders and Captains led the way from the beginning with some very entertaining themes in the House Parade, with a win to Kennedy kicking off a day of close competition. After a cool start in the morning, the day and competition heated up. There were some outstanding individual performances at the carnival. 2018 saw 11 athletes breaking 19 individual records, whilst 4 relay records (since relay records were updated in 2015) were broken.

After a day of close competition all Houses were eager to see who would be crowned House Champions for 2018. With the lead changing a number of times during the day, and even in the last  minute, the result was always going to be close. After coming very close in 2017 it was Carroll House scoring an outstanding 881. Participation points which saw them get over the line for their first ever Athletics Carnival Trophy. Congratulations to all who participated in the true spirit of the event.
