Student of the Week Awards Presented 1/4/22

Christopher C. - 00L

This award goes to Christopher for being so brave and resilient at swimming this week. Christopher was nervous to join in with a Level 3/4 swimming group. But he rose to the challenge and was able to enthusiastically participate and build on his own swimming skills. Christopher you should be so proud of yourself.

Phoebe K. - 1/2D

Phoebe is to be congratulated for demonstrating the HEART value of Excellence this week. She has shown wonderful enthusiasm and excitement towards swimming lessons each day, yet hasn't let this get in the way of her learning in the classroom. Phoebe has put in her personal best effort into what she achieves before, during, and after swimming. Phoebe, you are a Scoresby Superstar. Keep up the great work!

Adrian Y. - 1/2G

This award goes to Adrian for his progression this term. Each week Adrian has grown both academically and with his behaviour in class. This week we have been learning to create an advertisement for Scoresby Primary School. He was able to sound out the hard words and then go on and write his ad. I am extremely proud of how far you have come this term Adrian. Keep it up!

Adrian V. - 1/2K

This award goes to Adrian for the excellence he is displaying in his literacy work. He has taken on the challenge of learning new skills and is now applying them to his reading, writing, and spelling. It is never easy stepping outside your comfort zone to try new things. Adrian, we are so incredibly proud of your efforts. We even see that you are too!!! Never hide that beautiful smile!!! Let it shine bright with everything you do! Keep on giving it your all and you will soar high.

Harlan L. - 3/4K

This award goes to Harlan for his imaginative narrative writing. Harlan always has interesting ideas to include in his story. He is quick to begin writing tasks and makes sure that he includes a problem in the middle and a resolution at the end. Well done Harlan.

Bodhi H. - 3/4S

This award goes to Bodhi for working hard to learn his basic number facts this week. Bodhi was set a challenge to learn doubles facts and this week he demonstrated that he could answer these problems very quickly. Keep up the amazing work with your number facts, Bodhi.

Karim H. - 5/6F

This award goes to Karim for displaying the Scoresby HEART value of excellence. This week he has been working on his persuasive writing skills. Karim has brainstormed arguments for and against kids being given homework. He has used these ideas to start drafting a piece of writing using persuasive devices such as including a rhetorical question, emotive language and personal pronouns. Karim should be proud of the work he is producing.

Christine K. - 5/6M

This award goes to Christine for being the ‘quiet achiever’ in 5/6M. Christine completes set work quietly and to a good standard as she listens to instructions carefully and always does her best even when no one is looking. I am so happy to see Christine grow in confidence this term and thrilled to be her Year 6 teacher.

Oliver L. - 5/6W

This award goes to Oliver for his hardworking attitude in PONT maths this week. When learning about the place value system, in particular it extending beyond hundredths, he was able to write a variety of decimals in word and expanded form. He also developed his confidence of regrouping these numbers. Fantastic effort Oliver!

Piper W. - Performing Arts

This term Piper has done very well learning the Do Re Mi song. She performed it, singing and playing at the same time for the class. Well done Piper!

Eliza-Mei W. - Visual Arts

This award goes to Eliza-Mei for her enthusiasm and attention to detail in her art. Foundation students created shape chickens and practised thinking like an artist when choosing a background and arranging their chickens on the paper. Eliza-Mei’s chicken artwork is simply beautiful. She is already demonstrating her ability to think like an artist! Wonderful effort Eliza-Mei!

Riley C. - Physical Education

This award goes to Riley for his outstanding effort in PE this week. Riley used the correct technique and tried his best when participating in high jump. He successfully jumped over the bar when it was 1 metre high! Fantastic work Riley!
