 Project Compassion 2022

Thank you to all of our families for supporting Caritas through Project Compassion in Term 1. With Shrove Tuesday pancakes, Move it in March walks, the coin drive and the Easter egg raffle, we raised a total of $4,537.85 This money will be used to help people in our community, communities around Australia and globally.

Aged care letters - Easter Cards for our community

At the end of last term, our students wrote letters and made cards for residents and staff at all of the aged care facilities in Echuca and Moama. We were very excited when the postie started delivering letters back to our students! A simple act of kindness as part of our Lenten journey with almsgiving has seen a ripple effect in return.

Sacramental Program.

The timeline for the 2022 Parish Sacramental preparation program - ‘Steps in Faith’ has begun.

The first faith formation evening is 11th May @ 7pm at St Mary’s church for all participants. Family groups and participant packs will be distributed on the night also.

ANZAC Day commemorations

Many families and staff represented our school on Monday in the various commemorations around our shire. Thank you to those who paid their respect and represented our school. Our Facebook / Instagram has lovely photos and a video to watch.

On Tuesday afternoon, we gathered as a school community at the flag poles to honour ANZAC day in prayer, reflection and song.

Holy Week at School

In the last week of term 1, each day we celebrated an event for Holy Week- Palm Sunday, Washing of the Feet, The Last Supper, Jesus’ arrest in the Garden of Gethsemene and then his crucifixion on Good Friday.

In Term 2, Thursday after lunch, our school community gathered to celebrate Easter Sunday. This is the final day of the Easter Tridium- and the beginning of our Easter season which goes for 50 days- from Easter Sunday to Pentecost.

Your child may notice that their class prayer table has changed from purple to white- white is the colour of the Easter Season.

Parish Dates to be aware of:

Fr Novie began his ministry in our parish on Palm Sunday and celebrated the events of Holy Week with our parish community. He now leaves for his Sabatical and will return to us in early June. We pray he has a restful and blessed time with his family in Cebu.
