Cultural Family Picnic

26th November 2015

We had our first ever family picnic on the 26th of November, from 3:30-6:00pm in front of the Trade Training Centre.

Nyibol Atoc, 2016's Culture Captain, hosted the event.  Achouth Mayuom, Anyieith Mabiei and Asyai Luk helped Ms. Hemiak and Mr. Flanagan with the games.  We had fun playing the Bring Me game, chess, the three-legged race, and trivia. It was also a great day to see old friends again.

Can we talk about the food for a second?  It was simply amazing, and we have Ms. Jowett, Mula Masaga, Riel Mayuom, Mrs. Ruta Tulaga and Ms. Isaac to thank for the fantastic spread!

We'd also like to give a special shout out to Ms. Currey for the beautiful face painting, as well as Mr. Hart for organizing our sounds for the day.

Lachlan Keighery, Sharie May Castillo, Henry Lal Din Mawi, and Roda Thangaw sang, while we had Samoan and Nauru-an dancers liven the stage with beautiful performances. Videos available on the next page!
