EAL Tutorial Group

Working with Volunteers

In Semester 1, we put together an EAL tutorial group, aimed to support EAL students with improving their literacy skills with a more specialized one-on-one approach.

What started with one student quickly grew to six, and supporting them would not have been possible without the help from the lovely volunteers from the Lifestyle Brookfield community.

On the 18th of November, the staff and students got together for a special morning tea to thank Dawn Harrison, Glenda Lind, Myrtle Garbutt, Patricia Dean, Rosaleen Rowe, Anne Kelly, Brenda Sanders and Pauline Simpson.

The students had prepared certificates, beautiful cards with photos, and speeches to thank the women.  They were also given chocolates to thank them for their much appreciated help.

We look forward to continuing working with the ladies next year, and are excited to plan our program for 2016.
