Western Chances Scholarship

Last Wednesday evening, I attended the Western Chances Scholarship Award Ceremony. Four of our students were successful in receiving a scholarship last year. They were Christina Myakala, Georgia Keighley, Caitlin Powley and Chris Stavropoulos.

The evening was opened by James Merlino (Deputy Premier & Minister for Education) It was a wonderful evening of entertainment from previous recipients, and an opportunity for our students to hear how Western Chances has helped other students achieve their goals.

Western Chances provide opportunities for young people in the western suburbs who display a talent and require assistance in fostering that talent.

Both Chris and Caitlin received the award for academic excellence. They both attended the evening with their families and were excited about how well the night went and the opportunities that lie ahead for them through Western Chances.

We hope that many more Staughton College students continue to be successful as Western Chances recipients in the future.
