Principal's Report

Dear Collingwood College Community,
We have made it to the end of Term 1! I hope you all enjoy the festivities over this coming break. I can’t wait to see all the students back next term fully charged and ready to go for another term.
In the meantime some news from me…
Sub Committees
With our new school council being recently elected we have the opportunity to invite new people to attend our various subcommittees. Participating in a subcommittee can be a great way to contribute to our school. They give you the opportunity to have a say in various areas which are aimed at assisting every young person to reach their full potential.
Should this be something that you would like to be involved with, please send an email to collingwood.co@edumail.vic.gov.au
The following committees have been established in 2019:
- Finance
- BES (Buildings, Environment and Sustainability)
- Comms (Communication)
- Camps
- Fundraising.
- Edpol (Education Policy)
Open Day
The Collingwood College Open Day is being held on Wednesday, 1st May from 9:30am-4:00pm. This is a great opportunity for the community to see what makes our school unique and the world of choices our students have access to. On offer are guided school tours, the chance to meet the teachers and experience treats from the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen or VET Hospitality course.
Please tell your neighbours, friends and family about the day. Also, if you would like to do a mail drop, please inform reception. Every bit of advertising helps!
Spring Fair
The Spring Fair is back again in 2019 and will be on Sunday, 15th September. This huge event provides the perfect opportunity to showcase our school to the community. As the saying goes, many hands make light work, and a great way to be involved is to join the Spring Fair Committee. The Committee will meet regularly to oversee planning and organising and will have a tremendous time while doing it! If you’re keen, please contact Jeremy Carr – jeremyc@collingwood.vic.edu.au. The Committee is also seeking items for donation for the online auction, including ‘weekend escapes’ at a holiday home.
Teacher Play
Our wonderful teachers were at it again, performing the Easter Play that was based on ‘The Cock and the Handmill'. Fantastic to see Alison and Nick take on the lead roles. I, along with all that attended thoroughly enjoyed the show.
