Sport- Cricket & Soccer

Year 7 Sport Class- Cricket Victoria Workshop
On the 12th October Tristan came from Cricket Victoria to run a session with 7E the sport class. We are just starting cricket in class and will run a round robin competition.
Tristan helped us out with our skills. This looked at our bowling, batting fielding and umpiring. We started off in the gym looking at ball handling and cricket skills. We then went out on the oval and Tristan ran a T20 game at the end where we got to bat and bowl with our partner.
We thank Tristan for teaching us new skills and for a really fun session.

7E Sport Class Soccer.
For the last 4 to 5 weeks our class has been doing soccer for sport. For the first lesson we practiced our soccer skills such as dribbling, passing and goal kicking. After that Miss Squire sorted us into three teams. We all had our own roles on and off the field, such as umpire, scorer, timekeeper, publicity officer, coach and captain. After that we started to play soccer games, the students would set up the fields or courts. We would play two teams on the field and the other team was the duty team, they would perform their roles as the duty team. Once we got used to the rules the coach and captain would take their teams for a warmup before they started playing for about 15 minutes. In these games the publicity officer would write a report on the games. In these games the winner would receive 3 points and 1 point for a draw. For the finals the team with the most points would make it straight to the grand final and the other two teams would play to get into the grand final. Team 2 and 1 played to get in the grand final, team 2 one the game by a couple goals.
For the grand final it was team 2 vs team 3. Team 2 won by 1 goal, it was a very clean game. It was some fun weeks.
