Important Information

With just over eight weeks until the end of the 2016 school year, our focus is on finalising school accounts for 2016 and preparing CSC for a successful 2017.
End of Year School Closure
In order to facilitate the move from the Etty Street campus into the Blakeley Road campus, the school will be closed from December 14 to December 20. This means that the final day for students for the year will be Tuesday, 13 December. We acknowledge that this may create childcare issues for some families and apologise for the inconvenience. We ask for your understanding that this closure is a one off event, is timed to prevent disruption to student learning as well as being respectful of staff needs.
2016 Parent Payments – Essential, Voluntary and Optional Items
Back in June I advised that CSC had received about 60% of payments owed by families for Essential Education or Optional items. Thank you to those families who have been able to pay for these items and increase this figure to 65%. However, this obviously still leaves us short.
Castlemaine Secondary College works hard to ensure that all parent contributions are kept to a minimum. The essential educational items, resource and elective subject levies support the College to be able to continue to provide your child with a high level of classroom resources and support in their learning areas.
So, we ask that families please finalise all outstanding accounts before 16 November or contact Karen Burton on 5479 1111 to confirm payment time of any funds still owing. Support for CSC through payment of these fees is vital to ensure the continuation of a wide range of subject choices for our students.
Payments can be made using BPay (the codes are included on your statement); in person using cash, cheque or EFTPOS; via telephone using a credit card or direct debit into the College account.
If you would like to discuss this further, please contact Karen Burton, who is happy to support you to finalise payment of your account as soon as practicable.
Resource Lists
Resource lists for 2017 are currently being prepared with Campion Education and will be distributed to families the week of November 21. A big change for 2017 is the free delivery of orders directly to an address nominated by families (home, work, etc). This is a welcome offer from Campion as we have received feedback from families who have often found it challenging to attend the January Bookseller Day. With this development, CSC will not be conducting Bookseller Day in 2017.
And finally, on behalf of all the Education Support staff we congratulate our Year 12s and wish them the best of luck for their exams and future endeavours.
