Parent Drivers
During the year we can have up to ten occasions when it is not economically viable to hire a bus for a team to participate in a District, Division, Region, Zone or State event. On these occasions, we need the assistance of Parent Drivers to provide the opportunity for the students to participate.
It is now a State Education, Catholic Education and St Brendan’s requirement that parent drivers need to have completed the Working with Children Check. This can be completed on line: www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au
The application only takes a matter of minutes and lasts for five years. If you are in need of any further information, please contact the office.
Bayside District Swimming Trials: Week 5 FRIDAY 28 Feb
There are three age divisions for both male and female – 9/10yr, 11yr and 12/13 – age as at 31/12/2018.
i.e If a child is turning 10 this year, they will compete as a 10 year old.
This year, students who enter have to be a weekly squad swimmer and they need to be able to complete their event by the times that will be provided in the next couple of weeks.
Students may try out for 4 events (strokes – Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly), but can only qualify to swim in 2 individual events and 1 relay.
The 2 fastest swimmers in each event qualify to compete at the Northern Peninsula Divisional
I will be handing out permission forms to interested students who qualify over the next couple of weeks.
Before School Athletics Training: will be conducted from 8.20-8.40am on both Tuesday and Wednesday for Grade 3-6 students. Students will need to bring along their runners to change into on these days.
Hats and asthma puffers: need to be brought to P.E sessions. Children without a hat will not be able to participate in the activities during term 1 re St Brendan’s Sun Protection Policy. Due to training for field athletics and cross country events, it is extremely important that asthmatics have their puffer at P.E. sessions.
Sicknesss/Absent from P.E. session/s
If your child is unable to participate in their weekly P.E. session, would you please provide a note indicating the issue and informing how long their absence from the P.E. sessions will be.
