Year 10 Work Experience

All Year 10 students had the opportunity to engage in a week's work experience.  The aim was to develop their work related skills, explore potential careers and gain practical experience in the world of work.

A heart-felt thank you to all the businesses and organisations for supporting our work experience program, you have made a valuable contribution to our young people and our community.

Congratulations to our Year 10 students! The feedback from employers has been very positive.

Please see our Work Experience album for lots of photos of our students at work.

"Skills in Action" Workshop

As part of National Skills Week and the subject selection process, Year 10 students will be participating in a ‘Skills in Action Workshop’ on Wednesday 4th September 2019.

Year 10 students will attend a presentation and have the opportunity to learn about vocational education and gather industry information presented by a keynote speaker and various industry representatives. Students will then be divided up into smaller groups and rotate around the school participating in various interactive workshops delivered by VET students, industry representatives, school and TAFE VET teachers. The interactive workshops will give students the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding about Vocational Education, skills and knowledge required for future pathways and career options.

"A Taste of TAFE"

Year 10, 11 and 12 students had the opportunity to attend "A Taste of TAFE" where they explored a variety of courses including Construction, Health, Business, Early Education and Care, Hairdressing and Beauty, Community Services and Digital TAFE.

Students enjoyed the hands-on activities and learning about the different courses available at TAFE. This valuable experience will assist our young people in making informed choices as they start to plan their future careers.
