A Review of Otis Elementary's School-Wide Dismissal Procedures.

At this time of the school year when September feels like decades ago, it's good practice to review with everyone of our building procedures. These procedures were designed to keep our students, staff and families safe as they leave school in the afternoon. Below are our dismissal procedures, developed with your child's safety in mind:

Dismissal:   Begins at 3:27 PM

Student Walkers: All walkers are dismissed at 3:27 p.m. Students who will be walking east or north of the school will cross Arden with a crossing guard. Students walking west will cross at Wellesley and Harvard with a crossing guard.

  • First through 5th grade: Students will exit the building through the front doors.
  • Sixth grade students will be dismissed from the modular building and will walk down the sidewalk to either parent/guardian pick-up or the bus lane.

Pick-Up:

Kindergarten:

  • Only kindergarten parents are to park on the west side of the front parking lot. Please meet your child at their kindergarten classroom door.

First through 6th grade:

Parents/guardians must pick up their child on the south side of the transportation parking lot, across from the school at the corner of Wellesley and Arden. A supervisor will facilitate the parent/guardian pick-up.

Please Note: If your child needs to be released early for an appointment or after school plans have changed, please call 924-9823 by 1:30.
