The Three Bears Task

During Book Week this year, the Year 7, 8 & 9 students participated in an incursion organised by the library. This incursion introduced students to Mandy Ord and her graphic illustration work. The Art Department took inspiration from the incursion and developed a practical task that led students through the process of developing and creating their own illustrations based on the topic 'The Three Bears'.

The Arts Department would like to express our gratitude to Bronwyn (Bonnie) Truex and Noel Will who recently donated a large collection of film making and photographic equipment to our college.

Both Bonnie and Noel have long standing connections within the local community and our college.

Bonnie attended Glen Eira Secondary College (formerly Caulfield High School) as a student from 1965 to 1969 and went on to forge a successful career in the theatre, both here in Australia and the USA. She has performed in a large range of productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, Barnum, Evita and Godspell. Bonnie has since returned to the college to perform regularly at our school assemblies.

Bonnie’s partner Noel, a former technical school teacher and financial planner, has lived in our local area since 1998. He has a deep seated passion for art and is also an avid art collector.

The couple’s kind donation of materials and equipment will be used to further develop and enhance our student’s hands-on experiences in Art, Film & Media as well as our Photography and darkroom curriculum. 

The Arts Department is truly grateful for Bonnie and Noel’s generosity and ongoing support of our college.
