From The Principal

It has been wonderful to have all of our students back on site.  They have settled in so very well and I could not be more proud of them and our staff.

It was wonderful to be able to have a celebration day for the Year 12 students led by our school captains who did a really wonderful job.

Transition

We will commence our 2022 timetable on Monday 29th November. Students going into Years 11 and 12 in 2022 will have one week of transition classes.  They will receive documents relating to each subject and the expectations and also preparation that should be completed prior to returning next year.

Students going into Years 8 – 10 in 2022 will have two weeks of transition classes.

In the final week of the school year we will run an alternate program.

Opportunity From The City Of Glen Eira

Dear Glen Eira School Community,

All around Australia, communities are taking up the challenge of dealing with climate change. Here in Glen Eira, both the community and council are committed to strong climate action, which is reflected in our climate emergency declaration and our target of zero emissions by 2030. But to reach this target everyone has a role to play, and we need your help.

We are launching an exciting new Climate Conversations program to give the community the tools and strategies you need to cut your carbon footprint and advocate for stronger climate action.
We’re recruiting 25 passionate people to become Climate Conversations Facilitators. You don’t need to be an expert – you’ll be trained on how to have conversations with your friends, family and the wider community on climate change, as we know that people are more likely to take action through conversations with people they trust. The facilitators will be supported by us every step of the way with digital learning materials, live webinars, mentoring and workshops.

As a leader in our community, we are seeking your support in recruiting our facilitators, which may include:
Signing yourself up as a Climate Conversations Facilitator.
Encouraging parents of your school community to sign up.
Helping to promote the program throughout November through your social media, or putting up the attached poster on a school noticeboard.

Please get in touch with our Climate and Sustainability team to express your interest or find out more on 9524 3823 or sustainability@gleneira.vic.gov.au. Further information is also available on our website at gleneira.vic.gov.au/climate-conversations.

Yours sincerely,
CR MARGARET
