The best kept secret in town....
The BSC Parents Association, the parents and carers of our school community kept a BIG secret this term.
Last Thursday, staff gathered in the lunch room to be met with the unexpected sight of a delicious spread of food.... and a "What's hidden under the table cloth?" moment!
All was revealed when, on behalf of the PA and the parents & carers community, Deb Gough gave a speech to us all. Thanking staff for the monumental effort invested over the past two years, Deb revealed that the PA had collected donations to provide not only a fabulous morning tea for us all, but a gift for every member of staff. Incredibly, they also provided an eCard where parents and carers could leave messages for staff to read - pages of messages that we are all reading with so much joy.
Staff were of course delighted with these incredibly generous and heartfelt gestures, and truly appreciative of just how much thought, time, effort, investment and planning had been contributed by all involved. Never before have we all felt so appreciated and there are no words to express what a wonderfully uplifting moment this was for all staff present. As the end of year draws near, it was fabulous to be reminded of just how much we all enjoy working with the students, families and colleagues here at Brunswick.

What a great way to end the week! While we wondered what was under the tablecloths, the REAL mystery turned out to be how the parents, carers and PA kept such a huge project under wraps!
Be assured - we never could have seenthis coming, and I think that made the gesture even more special.
Thank you all for such a kind and thoughtful acknowledgement.

The looks of surprise and disbelief on the faces of fellow staff members was priceless! How lovely and how generous of parents and carers to want to acknowledge our efforts! I am lucky to be part of such a caring community. ❤️ Special thanks to Deb & Kylie, who consistently seek to help wherever possible, and do such a great job!

I had a spare minute so thought I would click on the link for the eCard. I read a few of the messages before I realised that the card scrolls; there's multiple pages! The messages just keep coming!

Something that a global pandemic has highlighted to me is the importance of gratitude and expressing one’s appreciation of others. It was very special to have our hard work acknowledged in such an overwhelming way today. Thank you.❤️

The kindness, generosity and support from the parents was staggering and so appreciated. I was moved by the personal messages, home made treats and contributions. Unnecessary - but so uplifting.

I was surprised at how emotional it made me to simply hear a parent really acknowledge the work we’d done. It caught me off guard and I had to hold back the tears!! Such a lovely thoughtful gesture. Thank you BSC parent community.
