Readers will remember the Wicking Bed project undertaken in Term 1 with  the help of our VCAL students and a local business, Very Edible Gardens early in the year.

We are pleased to report that our herb garden is going great guns - providing regular harvests for use in the school's food studies classes. Chives, basil, marjoram and more are thriving.

True to plan, the wicking bed system ensures that the crop remains well watered and low maintenance, and it looks great too!

A recent audit and upgrade to kitchen equipment  resulted in old tin graters becoming surplus to requirements.  These have been  repurposed as protection for our small basil plants as they establish in the bed!
