FUNDRAISING - OGPS Christmas raffle

Did You Know?
Last Friday 3rd December was International Day of Persons with a Disability Day?
The Inclusion Sub Committee are very proud to be working with the staff and families at OGPS to ensure our school is a place where everyone feels included and celebrated for who they are. There are some great books that would make really thoughtful Christmas presents for kids related to this topic, here are a few to consider, on the topic of Disability and Diversity.
- "The Worry (Less) Book" by Rachel Brian, Picture Story Book. A playful look at why we worry and how we can worry less. Good story for kids with anxiety and helpful tool for parents to unpack this topic with kids. Good conversation starter and teaching tool.
- "Can You See Me?", by Libby Scott and Rebecca Westcott. Young Adult Fiction Novel. Finding a way for your friends to understand Autism. Good story about Autism and empathy . Helpful tool for parents to unpack this topic with kids. Good conversation starter and teaching tool.
- "El Deafo", by Cece Belle. Young Adult Fiction Graphic Novel. A moving tale about a young girl with a Phonic Ear.
- "Roll With It", by Jamie Sumner. Young Adult Fiction Graphic Novel. Story of an irrepressible young girl with Cerebral Palsy.
