"There is no such thing as a child who hates to read. There are only children who have not found the right book." Frank Serafinin

A big thank you to Stefanie mother of Liam (Year 5) and Connor ( Year 3), or donating some of her precious time to cover some more library books. I am so grateful to all the mums who answered my call for assistance in the newsletter last term. Thank you.

Prep - Year 1

Mass

The Year Prep and Year One students have been busy learning about the mass of different objects. The students enjoyed hefting items to identify which is heavier or lighter. Using the scales to find the heaviest and lightest items in the classroom was also lots of fun.

Discovery Learning is back!

We are so excited to be back at school and to be able to resume our fantastic Discovery learning with new and exciting discovery stations.

Year 2/3

World Teacher's Day

Year 2/3 students made fancy glasses for World Teacher's Day. With Liz leaving us at the end of the year, we took a photo for Liz to remember the Y2/3s by and the student's were able to thank Liz for what she has done for them.  We wish you well in your new adventures Liz!!

Fractions - Now that we are back at school, the students have been learning about fractions. The students were able to make paper pizzas, showing quarters, halves and thirds.

In another session, they cut food (cucumbers, snakes and Liquorice Allsorts) to show eighths, thirds and fifths.

Year 5/6

SO SO good to have everyone back at school, I know the kids have been really looking forward to seeing each other and their friends. It's been absolutely brilliant!

The Year 5/6 students (all students, in fact) have been working this week on the script and the songs of our upcoming production.

In this edition, we interview a couple of cast members of the upcoming musical Peter Pan and delve into their world as to how they're feeling.

Nicola Lyons ~ 'I'm playing the role of Wendy Darling, the eldest daughter of the Darling family. She meets Peter Pan and is sent on an adventure to Neverland. I'm feeling nervous but also excited at the prospect of performing. I'm extremely happy to be doing a whole school production, particularly after being in lockdown so many times!"

Oscar Azzarone ~ 'My character is Captain Hook, the villain of the musical. He has a very weird personality and he leads pirates on a mission to be the best in the world. I feel very excited and I'm so happy that we're finally doing something after such a hard year'.

Julian Ventura ~ 'My character is Michael Darling, the youngest child in the darling family. He is the one with probably the biggest imagination in the whole musical. I'm feeling pretty good about it all, cause I feel like my character is like me, we both have big imaginations and we're in pyjamas the whole time'.

Ria Jasani ~ 'I'm playing Peter Pan, the hero of the story. He takes Wendy and her brothers on a magical adventure to Neverland, where he starts a war with Captain Hook. Overall, I am feeling pretty excited about the role, a bit nervous but I'm really confident in this role'.
