Welcome Party 2022

It's time to begin thinking about our Welcome Party for 2022! This event is run each year by a team of generous parents, and we require more people to join the team. If you would like to help out in delivering a great event for our school community, please send me an email (here) by this coming Monday, 15 November.

Music Students Concert

17 November - Wednesday (6:30pm)

Parents and friends of students who have been taking music instruction this year are invited to attend a concert to be held in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Students will play a short musical piece with their instrument of choice to entertain the audience.  Children are asked to come in their summer uniform.

Programs will be available on the night.

Thanking Volunteers

On Friday 26 November we will hold our annual event to celebrate the generous work and support of volunteers within our community.

Many school parents or grandparents commit extraordinary amounts of time and energy, while others find smaller amounts of time within the constraints of the busyness of life.  All are valued immensely.

This year we will be holding a breakfast in the church café from 8.15am to 9.00am.  Students will be supervised on the playground during this time.

Further details will be coming home soon, but for now save the date!

Class Carer News

Class Carers are always looking for ways to encourage and bless school families and the teaching staff in our school.

For quite some time, one aspect of this has been arranging a gift at the end of the year for their class teacher and LSO.

Instead of each Class Carer preparing class notes asking for donations to go toward class gifts of appreciation, a whole school Class Carer note will accompany this edition of WINGS.  You can contribute either via Qkr! (Class Carer Gift Donation) or with a cash payment to Sharon in the front office. All money will be collected and then distributed evenly to our Class Carers so they can purchase a gift for our valued class teachers and LSOs.

For more information, please read your Class Carer Christmas note.

Term 4 Chapel Offerings

With Christmas just around the corner, we will once again be supporting Lutheran Community Care in collecting items for their hamper boxes.

Cash donations received at (Chapel) worship services are also welcome.

See the list below for items which can be brought to school:

Bus Service

Potential Bus Service from Parafield Gardens in 2022 and beyond.

GSPV is currently assessing the viability of introducing a bus service that will service the Parafield Gardens area.  Costs will be determined by the amount of demand for the service, but we hope to keep the fees in line with the current bus fares.

If you are interested in completing a questionnaire about this potential service, please email Mark Elliott (here).

We would appreciate this information by the close of business on Friday 12th November.

2024 Year 7 Transition to Endeavour College

All Year 4 families will now have received their information pack about enrolment at Endeavour College for Year 7 in 2024.  This is reminder that if you have a child currently in Year 4 and are considering Endeavour College for their secondary education, it is important that your enrolment application is returned to your school office by Friday 12 November 2021.

If you have any queries about the enrolment process, please contact Carolyn Wachtel, Registrar, Endeavour College Ph: 8368 3311.

Growing Faith at Home

This week’s GFH title is ‘Hold tight to your faith’. Sometimes that isn’t easy. The Service key picks this up. Encouraging others is important to our daily health and our Christian faith. We all experience discouragement. The Christian faith allows us to be honest with the challenges and difficulties around us and at the same time know that current trials and tribulations do not get the last word. Find ways to support someone going through a difficult time. Pray for them and with them.

God encourage and strengthen you through the coming week.

Little Lambs Playgroup

Little Lambs Playgroup is back again tomorrow for a morning of nature-based play. Why not join us on the school oval from 9.00am. Please bring weather appropriate clothes as well as snacks and a cuppa. Once again, access will be through the oval entrance gates at the end of the car park. Look forward to seeing you there!
