Year 12 Celebrations

Celebration Day

Celebration Day was a great day and all the students dressed up in various characters from Scooby Doo right through to a sumo wrestler! The day started out with an amazing breakfast followed by speeches from the year 12 school captains. It was brilliant to see all the students out of lockdown and celebrating with their teachers the successes of all their efforts. Good luck to all of our Year 12s with their upcoming ATAR results.

Formal

After multiple reschedulings the day finally came, it was the year 12 formal! We danced the night away with our teachers and fellow peers as well as some previous students until the last minute and enjoyed every single moment. The theme for the night was ‘starry night’ giving the room a magical feeling that everyone felt upon arrival. Now that exams are finished, it was a new form of relief and joy seeing everyone all suited up. Both Anna and Leahana worked hard for a long time and were glad to see everyone there. Despite the award predicting some students will be on Judge Judy all was well and everyone was pleased to be with each other for their final event as the graduates of 2021.

We would like to thank everyone for coming and making it a magical night.

Graduation

On Wednesday the 8th of December, it was our pleasure to host a graduation ceremony celebrating our amazing Class of 2021. While we were not able to host at our original venue (third time's the charm?) the school gym ultimately served as a relaxed setting for this occasion. Our graduates arrived with their supportive families in tow and the evening was spent not only presenting certificates of graduation but applauding all students for their grit and continued success both academically and socially. Our three school captains, Paramita, Leahana and Ilya, did an incredible job of emceeing the proceedings, delivering their own speeches with aplomb.

Thoughtful speeches were likewise delivered by principals Brent Houghton, Belinda Parini and Gary Vella, School Council representative Hayden Burns and Student Support Leaders, Lakshmi Sharma and Anna Vella. The common thread that ran through all of these was the absolute pride felt for the graduating class of 2021 who have demonstrated such focus and perseverance their their secondary, schooling years, but especially through the extra challenges of the last two. The night would not have been made possible without the work of so many, from Robbie and the IT team to Annie and her amazing cafe staff. We also thank Sally Boyd, Anna Berlingeri, Jeanette Williams, Paul Arney, Luke McIvor and Vinnie Kannan for their help in ensuring the night ran smoothly and successfully.
