Year 7 - Religious Education
This term the Year 7 students have been learning about the common good in Religious Education. As part of their learning program, they created picture books where characters espouse the benefits to society when everyone lives as Jesus did. The Year 7s then visited the wonderful Junior Primary students to read their picture books, share Jesus’ teachings and develop fellowship. The Junior Primary students were excited to be treated to story time from their older friends and the Year 7s were keen for the opportunity to take the lead and show off their teaching and mentoring skills. It was a beautiful experience for all involved and enriched the Religious Education learning programs at John XXIII College.

Sustainability News
Congratulations to the Year 7 Homerooms who, through their Interhouse recycling competition in Week 5, managed to bring in over 1,200 Cash for Containers recyclable plastic bottles, cans and glass bottles. Their efforts raised $120 for the College Christmas Appeal. Thank you to all those students and parents who supported this initiative. Thank you especially to Year 7 Loreto who brought in the most containers and won themselves a Homeroom lunch. The Year 8 Homerooms will be participating in a similar competition next week.
Just a reminder that a Cash For Containers recycle bin is located in the carpark near the roundabout on Mooro Drive for any families that would like to recycle their containers. Money raised from the scheme is donated to the Pilgrimage Program.
