Around The Primary

Dear Parents

It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is approaching so quickly. The students have only three weeks of school left before summer holidays begins and yet, there is still so much to do! Teachers are working conscientiously, as always, to enable students to achieve their learning goals, as well as, completing the Semester Two Reports.

It was fantastic to see so many parents at the Kindy and Pre-Primary Information Sessions for 2022 last night. This is a valuable opportunity for parents to be informed by teachers about some key aspects of the particular year level. In talking with parents over the course of the evening there was a real sense of positivity and excitement. Many thanks to Mrs King, Mrs Haines, Mrs Peirce and Miss Kolbusz for their efforts in conducting these evenings.

Our College Presentation Night will take place in the St Louis Sports Centre on Wednesday 1 December at 7:00pm. As this is an important event for our community, all students in Year 6 are expected to attend. The Wanju Voices will be providing some special musical entertainment alongside the Secondary students.

The Pre-Primary to Year 3 swimming lessons commence on Monday 22 November. The children are certainly getting very excited about making a big splash at Claremont Pools!

Kind regards,

Antoinette De Pinto

Head of Primary

Japanese Culture

Our Year 3 students visited the Hyogo Prefectural Cultural Centre on Wednesday, here’s what some of our students loved most about the excursion!

The excursion was fabulous. The Centre was quiet, small and cosy. The food was amazing and the staff were very nice. The craft was lots of fun and we all liked the garden. It was altogether fabulous! (Madeleine Miller 3B)

I loved the excursion because the bento boxes were so tasty and I liked that we were able to make craft. The Japanese garden was really cool too, I liked the little bridge that you could walk over in the Japanese garden. I learnt a lot.  (Lachlan Conway 3B)

I loved the excursion. The arts and crafts were awesome and I learnt a lot. The Japanese garden was peaceful and the food was lovely. My favourite food in the obento was the karaage chicken. It was so exciting, I wish that it hadn’t ended! (Mia Kwei 3B)

Swimming lessons for Pre-Primary to Year 3 students begins on Monday.  Thank you for completing the eForm and sending in your child’s enrolment form.  We are all looking forward to a week of water awareness at Claremont Aquatic Centre.
