THE ZOO

Countless Animals

Recently year 7 students travelled to the Melbourne zoo, to learn about animals’ features, habitats and how they live their lives. We saw countless animals including insects. I became quite fond of the way insects lived their lives and how they hid and blended into their environment.

I enjoyed the responsibility of looking around and filling in worksheets without the teachers’ guidance, although they were always watching over us. We had an intriguing speech given to us by the Melbourne zoo staff about how littering endangers habitats and animals. They also referred to poachers and how they endanger the lives of animals because they affect the food chain.

Overall it was a great experience, as well as a tremendous amount of hard work and time by the staff for which we thank them. This experience is definitely recommended for future generations.
