ABCN Future Thinkers Program

On 9th November, a hand full of Year 9 students were selected to participate in the ABCN Future Thinkers program due to their commitment to school and displaying the school values. In the program we were challenged to think critically and problem solve situations that were set to prepare us for the future in work experience and further studies. The ABCN Future Thinkers program ran through the first two periods of the day. We were split into four break-out rooms on Zoom where we had two mentors to show us ways in which we can best problem solve. This included giving us a problem such as group 1 and 2 had: "How can we increase attendance at school?” Group 3 and 4 had: "How can we limit the waste within schools?” Each group were walked through the steps of problem solving and working as a team. At the end of the zoom session we re-joined to shared our experiences, ideas and our strategies. Overall, this was a great experience for us all and we are grateful we had the opportunity to attend even over Zoom.

A big thank you to ABCN and mentors for having us and allowing us to learn many important skills. Another big thank you to the coordinators and teachers for allowing us to participate in this amazing program!
