TERM 3

SLC have been studying music and musical instruments from around the world. Students have learned about music from Italy, France, India and Australia. Students have learned about how the didgeridoo is made and the circular breathing required to play it. The class enjoyed a series of rhythm and pitch exercises to develop their aural and sight reading skills.

MLC learned about musical form. What defines a verse, a chorus and a bridge. The students were encouraged to find the verse, chorus and bridge in their favourite pop songs. There was a strong focus on Rondo form as we researched Vivaldi's four seasons. The class enjoyed a series of rhythm and pitch exercises to develop their aural and sight reading skills.

JLC and Prep learned a series of action songs and dances. Through a series of games and chants, they rehearsed recognising ta and titi rhythms. The students learned body percussion routines to further galvanise their sight reading skills.
