Fantastic French

Bonjour tout le monde!

Welcome back to French at school !

This term grade grade 5 and 6 will be honing their number skills in French.

Did you know that in French you say "four times twenty" instead of eighty?

 Quatre vingts=80

And seventy is sixty plus ten? Soixante-dix=60+10=70

But if you live in Canada, Belgium and Switzeraland it's "septante".... très intéressant!

Grade 3 and 4 are looking at French food vocabulary. Did you know that the word éclair means lightning and it is also a delicious pastry?

Grade 1 and 2 are learning and revising French words  for the family.

Did you know  mum is "maman" in French and "papa" is dad?

Foundation students are learning about creatures big and small

"Un petit chien"  is a little dog and "un grand chien" is a big dog.

Au revoir
