Our Alumni

Where are they now?

In our last edition of the newsletter we introduced you to a former student and told you a little about where they are now, post Nossal. In this edition, we have another former student for you to meet.

Georgina Ledin

Georgina is a Solicitor, working in Regional Victoria in a small firm of approximately 30 employees. Her area of expertise is 'Wills and Estates' while also having an interest in Superannuation Law. Georgina notes one of the advantage of working in a small firm though is that it allows her to be exposed to many other areas including commercial and property. Growing up in Gippsland, she says it is a privilege to now 'give back' and serve the local area in their legal needs. "No day is the same and that keeps my work interesting", says Georgina.

When thinking back about her days at Nossal, she says her fondest memories would be the teachers she had and the friends she made. Georgina says she appreciated the way students were treated as young adults, charged with taking responsibility for their own education. At school, her favourite subject was English she wishes she had taken her study of French further.

Georgina's advice to our current students at Nossal is that it is OK and quite common to change courses at university. "Sometimes a course is not the right fit for you, regardless of the associated prestige of the university or the expectations of others. University is a long and challenging road and it is not worth staying in a course you do not enjoy."

Away from work and study, Georgina enjoys clearing her head with a long walk with her dog or sitting down with a good coffee and a book.
