Chaplain's Corner

YEAH!!!!
YEAH!!!!

What a great week it has been to be back as ‘one community’ once again!  I think that JOY has been the overwhelming feeling, amongst others.  AND WOW, HOW THEY HAVE GROWN!  One student in grade 6 is now taller than me, and delighted in that fact.

‘YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU GOT UNTIL IT IS GONE’

This is especially timely now. It comes to mind as major parts of our lives, which we took for granted, suddenly appear to be “gone.”

There is so much in life that we take for granted: our jobs, family, friendships, freedom of movement, shopping, our teachers, sport, learning, etc, etc…………

I mentioned this briefly to the older students this week, especially in relation to their friends, teachers and sporting activities.  They agreed how much they value their friends especially. I suggested that perhaps they will value their friendships more and become better friends.

KINDNESS

We also briefly touched on the signs of kindness they had seen in their community and the kindnesses they had shown, which I hope will continue.

STRENGTH/RESILIENCE/PERSEVERANCE

I also encouraged our students by stating that they have grown as people, grown in perseverance, strength and resilience.

THEY MAY NOT REALISE ALL THIS UNTIL THEY FACE OTHER CHALLENGES IN LIFE.

I HAVE A REAL HOPE THAT WE WILL COME THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT YEAR AS BETTER PEOPLE AND TRULY VALUE WHAT IS IMPORTANT.
