Welcome back to all our families for Term 4.  I trust everyone has had an opportunity to rest, relax and recharge, ready for a final term of learning for 2020.

As you are no doubt aware, schools in New South Wales have received communication from NSW Health (and the Catholic Schools Office) regarding the easing of various COVID-19 restrictions for Term 4.  The ability to conduct end of year celebrations for Year 6 and Year 10, along with the possibility of an excursion (within NSW) for these students, are the main considerations for St Philomena's.  Further information will follow to families in these cohorts regarding the details of these exciting events.  Unfortunately, parents are still prevented from entering the school grounds without a prior appointment.

Today we celebrated the conclusion of Book Week with a Book Character Parade.  It was wonderful to see our students dressed up as their favourite book character.  Thank you to all the parents that supported this school event by helping your children design and make their costumes.  It was easy to see that a lot of time and energy went into the creation of the costumes and it was fantastic to see the smiles on the students faces as they paraded for the judges and other students.  A special thank you to Father Abmar and Mrs Sharon Cooke (Catholic Schools Office) for being our judges.  Congratulations to all our year group winners.  Your costumes were truly amazing.

We are in for an extremely busy and exciting term of learning, growth and success.  With only 7 1/2  weeks of term 4 remaining, we still have a lot of rich learning to be experienced and successes to be celebrated (whether big, small or enormous).

Enjoy your weekend

God bless
