Careers News

Term 3 has been a busy term for all members of the Careers Team, whether working on site in 3 offices located in the library or in a home study while working remotely. There have been regular compass posts as a method of communication to promote on line University Open Days, VET/SBAT information and the weekly Careers Newsletter. Students in Years 9-12 may have also received phone calls to provide them with information about their current studies or to assist with their pathway planning.

Deakin University held on line presentation for our Year 12 students on 19 August to provide advice about SEAS and Scholarship applications. Year 12 students are currently completing their VTAC applications if they are planning a university pathway in 2021. Timely applications require students to pay $41 by 30 October (5.00pm). SEAS/Scholarships applications, including all evidence and supporting documentation must be completed by 9 October (5.00pm).

Selected Year 11 & 12 VCAL students have been completing Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations) to gain additional qualifications. Classes have combined both practical lessons and on line learning due to the Stage 4 restrictions.

Year 10 students have selected their subjects for 2021. Students who have chosen the VCAL program must ensure that they have paid $100 deposit for their preferred VET program.

Year 9 students have participated in Career Counselling to discuss the results of their Morrisby quiz. They have also selected their subjects for 2021. Students who have chosen a VET program must ensure that they have paid $100 deposit for online applications to be completed by the Careers Team.

Payment plans are available for VET fees. All fees must be paid by 16 October.
