Loving the Library @ MSC

Term 3 in Remote Learning was definitely different in the Library!

The Library team have been busy researching and sourcing new books for our students.  Lots of ordering, parcels arriving and processing books on workbenches set up at home for our students’ return to school.

Fortunately we now have the link for the MSC Library on Compass and the school Website.  Students and staff can access this from school and when away from school.

Our school Library portal contains links to the online book collection at Melton City Libraries and the State Library of Victoria. By registering and logging onto the Melton City Libraries portal, students have access to over 5000 online books that they can borrow and read on their own device.  It also includes links to some great book reviews and the Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge.  The school page has a dynamic preview of What’s new for when you are next in the Library. Family members and friends are also able to access the Melton City Libraries collection by registering online.

COVID 19 - Library books carry similar risks to any other surface, which is exposed to the virus.  Sanitiser has been made available to students in 5 locations upon entry and within the Library. Students are encouraged to sanitise before they browse.  All book returns are quarantined for 5 days before going back on the shelves.  The cleaning crew regularly wipe over high contact surfaces in the Library.  All IPad loans include a disinfectant spray which is to be used before devices are returned to the carry basket.
