Message from the Head of Primary

From the Head of Primary - Miss Claire Dalziel

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12: 2

Focusing has been the goal for the week in the Primary School. As we near the end of a term, it is always good to refocus our attention and finish well. But above all, do you have your eyes fixed on Jesus – the author and perfector of our faith?

I had the most wonderful time in Canberra with Year 6. Our students were well-behaved, intrigued and full of joy as they experienced the many incredible things on offer. So many people from the public commented on how exceptional our students were. I am so proud of them. Thank you Mrs Allum, Miss Hopkins and Mrs Morris for making this excursion possible.

Staff

This week we said goodbye to two staff members who have finished contracts with us. Both Miss Emily Wilson and Mrs Kylie Taber finished at Calrossy on Friday. Whilst it is goodbye for now, it is not forever and I have no doubt we will see both of these exceptional teachers back at Calrossy in the future. We wish them well. Mrs Lyn Hoy will return from Long Service Leave to teach Year 2 Green and Mrs Holly Goodman will return from Maternity Leave to work in Learning Support. Mrs Skye Fagan will also return from Maternity Leave to teach Japanese.

Reporting

Reports are being loaded on The Hub today, should you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s class teacher and they will touch base with you at the start of Term 3. You will need your username and password for the HUB to access your child’s report. Please contact thehub@calrossy.nsw.edu.auif you have lost your username or password or require assistance.

Learning does not stop, just because it is holidays. Take the time to extend learning these holidays and put it into action. Ride a bike and navigate a course or map, visit a park and challenge yourself, read a book, write a letter, bake a cake, build a blanket fort, visit a friend. As you take time to stop and relax, enjoy life with a slower pace and allow time to learn in the moment.

Term 3 starts on Monday 22ndJuly.

Happy holidays.

Claire Dalziel
