This term, six expectations were created in a collaboration between students and teachers that visit the Auslan/Library learning space for Auslan classes and to borrow.

The students chose one of the six expectations and drew a picture of what that might look like in the learning space. The Auslan team have chosen some to display as a poster in the learning space, and we have chosen others to be published into a book. This book will be on display in the Auslan/Library learning space.

Here are the six expectations as discussed by all the Auslan classes:

• I can follow the teachers instructions.
• I can communicate in different ways without my voice.
• I will respect other people and the learning space.I will sit within the designated Auslan learning space.I understand people are different.
• I can take responsibility for my learning.
