Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Families and Community members,

As we near the end of another wonderful year at Armstrong Creek School, staff are busily working away still to ensure continuity of educational programs and making the most of every opportunity for teaching and learning. With just under 200 days with our students over the course of a year, every day truly does count!

In saying this, we do also need to prepare children for 2020 and to support them in transitioning to another year level without overwhelming anyone in the process. It certainly is a fine balance we need to strike.

On Tuesday the 10th December we have a comprehensive ‘transition session’ for all students. This will see students spending part of the day in their new home groups and learning communities. Where possible, new staff joining the ACS team will be coming from their current schools, very excited to meet the children in their home group for 2020.

After these sessions your child will receive a letter from their new home group teacher introducing themselves. Children who may need additional support or preparation will be identified by this years’ staff and appropriately catered for.

We know how exciting it can be to find out who your new teacher is; let’s enjoy that but also make the most of the time we have left together in our 2019 groups. Hard to believe the year is almost over!

Emergency Management Drill

As part of our mandatory practises for Occupational Health & Safety Emergency Management, we carried out an Offsite Emergency Evacuation drill this morning.  All students and staff completed this drill in a very calm and timely manner.  We congratulate and thank our students for listening and following staff instructions while we practised this very important drill.
